RANGERS U14s played their last game of a championship-winning season at the weekend, finishing with a 5-1 win over Little Paxton.

Bluntisham played some of their best football of the season in the first half and were rewarded with four goals.

The forward pairing of Josh Parker and Tom Skidmore caused problems for the Little Paxton defence all day and each of them scored two goals in the first half.

Blunty struggled to control the game after the break and Little Paxton scored from a corner.

Tom Skidmore then redressed the balance with a goal from 20 yards.

THE U9As ended their season with a 2-1 win against Godmanchester in a competitively-played friendly.

The first half was even, with Blunty creating chances but not being able to find the net.

Blunty played down the wings in the second half, creating the opening goal after Kieran Carter scored from a George Goodwin flick.

James Arnold and Ian Liddle had to be sharp in defence but Blunty doubled their lead as Carter took his second.

Goddy replied with a goal soon after but Blunty held on.

THE U9Bs lost their last game of the season 8-1 at home to Histon.

The game started briskly, with both teams tackling hard and passing the ball around well.

Histon scored first, but Blunty didn't give up, creating chances before Lewis Bowcutt found the net. Jamie Bluff and Adam Few were instrumental in setting up the goal.

The second half saw the game open up as Histon used their subs, taking advantage of a few Blunty errors to run away with the game.

Brampton Spartans

SPARTANS U12s put in a battling display against St Ives A at the weekend, coming away with a 3-1 defeat despite their efforts.

St Ives needed a big winning margin to aid their title bid, and they took two goals in the first half to go into the break ahead.

Determined defending and excellent keeping by Harrison Hinde and Tom Davies limited St Ives to only one further goal.

Spartans did manage to pull one back after Tim Major was held back and a penalty was awarded. Jack Shepherd converted.

Brampton now have one game remaining, from which they need one point to finish above local rivals Huntingdon.

Brampton Spitfires

THE Spitfires Cub Pack won the annual Cub football tournament held at Alconbury FC on Sunday, beating Packs from Little Paxton, Kimbolton, Alconbury, Stukeley Meadows and Southhoe and Buckden.

In an event participated in by over 70 youngsters, each team played six matches.

Brampton Spitfires dropped only one point in all their games, playing impressively and with determination to be crowned champions.

Alconbury A, who won last year's event, were runners up, whilst in the Plate competition, Kimbolton A finished top.

Buckden

THE U13 Girl Harriers ended their season with a 4-0 win over Willingham Wolves.

The Harriers dominated from the kick-off, and Miquela McDonald came close to opening the scoring right at the start of the match.

Kimberley Smith then made a fantastic save from a Willingham free kick.

Miquela McDonald opened the scoring after five minutes to give the Harriers a well deserved lead.

Loren Ellard then scored to give the Harriers a 2-0 cushion at the break.

Buckden started sharply in the second half, Rebecca Railton scoring early on.

McDonald then scored her second to seal the win.

THE U10 Hawks beat Priory D 2-0 in their last game of the season.

The game started evenly, with both teams attacking and defending well.

Hawks keeper Lewis Medlow was forced to make saves, but the Hawks stepped up a gear and and scored through Matt Luscombe before the break.

In the second half the Hawks continued their passing game, a cross from Josh Draper allowing Luscombe to volley in the winner from close range.

MoM was Josh Draper.

Godmanchester Rovers

ROVERS U16As secured the League title with a 5-4 win over KC Cougars.

Goddy have lost only once this season, to Cougars, so beating them to win the title was fitting.

Goddy went down a goal early on, but showed tenacity to claw their way back into the game.

Scorers were Ed Gee, David Jobe, David Barrett, Keith Webb and Harry Toca.

GODDY U12As played their midweek game against Chatteris, coming away with a 6-1 win.

Goals came from MoM Joe Brennan, Jack Carson, Rickie Knaepal, Callum Walter and Ryan Palmer (2).

The team then played Chesterton Eagles on Sunday, winning 6-2.

Palmer scored a hat-trick whilst Jack Harwood, Brennan and Knaepal scored the others.

ROVERS U11Cs played Goddy U11Bs and the U13 girls in a friendly six-a-side tournament at the weekend.

The Cs ran out eventual winners, managing to go unbeaten with three wins and a draw.

The team worked well together to gain the advantage in what were tight and competitive games.

The Cs goals came courtesy of Joseph Cattmull and James Cockshott.

As well as the scorers, Adam Morley, Liam Napier and George Rawlings deserve special mention for their efforts.

GODDY U10Bs met St Neots Saints at the weekend, putting in a battling and skilfull performance only to lose 3-0.

Rovers played well in the first half, maintaining pressure on Saints and dominating the play, but couldn't find the net.

Goalie and team captain Tom Marrion made some excellent saves in the second half and was awarded the Kimberley Cup.

MoM was Tim Gladding who, despite picking up an injury in the second half, shrugged it off to play a leading role in attack with Jake Burrill.

The team were disappointed to lose despite putting in an excellent performance.

Huntingdon Rowdies

ROWDIES U14As won the league in style with a 4-0 win over title-hopefuls Fulbourne Falcons.

Priory Parkside

PARKSIDE U12Cs beat Hardwick 2-0 last Wednesday to secure their place in the A league next season.

Priory took a goal to go into the break ahead after a tight first-half.

Parkside relaxed in the second half, playing some impressive passing football to dominate and take another goal.

The goals came from Josh Crofts and Lindsey Smith.

MoM was Scott Sheen, who was outstanding at centre back.

THE U12Cs played Hardwick once again on Sunday, coming away runners-up in the league after a 2-1 defeat in the deciding game of the season.

Hardwick had been undefeated at home all season, and they went ahead in the first half as Priory struggled to pass the ball around on the small pitch.

Priory then pulled one back to make it all square at the break.

The second half started competitively, with Hardwick being awarded a penalty for pushing early on.

The penalty was saved only for the referee to order for it to be retaken after a Priory defender entered the box.

Hardwick scored at the second attempt to take the game and the title.

The Priory goal scorer was Gareth Ekins.

MoM went to Lozza Roffey, who was as reliable as ever.

PARKSIDE took on Ramsey U11As in a friendly match, coming away with a 3-0 win after a spirited performance.

In their first ever game of 11-a-side football, Priory started the better team.

Parkside displayed good passing skills and awareness but couldn't find the opener before the interval.

Priory came out strongly in the second half, making their pressure pay when Owen Dixon slotted one in.

Priory were in control after that, adding two further goals through Charlie Sheppard and Macaulay Clark.

Ryan Barnett then had a goal disallowed before excellent Ramsey keeping denied Priory any further scores.

Goalie Tom Meech kept out Ramsey with a great save to keep a cleansheet.

St Ives Rangers

RANGERS U13Bs took Comberton Crusaders, coming away disappointed with a 5-3 home defeat in an unpredictable game.

St Ives took the lead after Glen Tillbrook was brought down and Mark Howe scored the resulting penalty.

Comberton equalised a few minutes later, and then took lead to make it 2-1 at the break.

In the second half Rangers equalised when Tim Anderson drilled home from 20 yards. A goal from Addison Mallon then made it 3-2.

Rangers lead only lasted a few minutes, however, as the visitors made it 3-3. Comberton went on to score two more goals in the last five minutes to complete the scoring and take the points.

MoM was Michael Keeley.

ST Ives U12As beat Brampton 3-1 mid-week.

The game was stop-start throughout, but Max Roberts put away two and Jonathan Lowther one to seal the win.

In their weekend game, Rangers beat Chatteris 10-1 in a game in which they needed goals to keep their title hopes alive.

The whole team put in a superb display and their hopes now rest on Histon not winning by more than five in their final game.

Adam Radley scored a hat-trick, Max Roberts and Jack Prime scored two apiece and Cameron Stephen, Dan Moulds and Connor Withers got the others.

SAINTS U10s took on Godmanchester C in a friendly at home, coming away with a 3-0 win.

A fantastic game of football was end-to-end throughout but Saints proved too strong for the visitors at the finish.
