Waresley I beat Fordham by 33 runs HAVING won the toss and opted to bat, the Waresley innings started poorly as the dismissal of Chris Asque and David Sharp left them reeling at five for two. Jason Welch, batting at three, got things back on track however with his maiden half-century for the club before being caught out. Then 23, 27 and 30 from Vince Winn, Phil Masdin and Steve Warman respectively boosted Waresley total to leave them with a creditable 172 all out. David Stannard registered the best bowling figures for Fordham, finishing on four for 31 from 11.4 overs with three maidens. Nick Clark and Mark Silcock opened the batting for Fordham, making seven and eight respectively. Matthew Foulds' 21 marked a short recovery, however, as Darren Theobald hit his way to 54 before being bowled by Asque. With the score at 84 for four, however, Scott Blaber's three and Jason Theobald's one stopped Fordham's progress in its tracks. Graham Arnold got 17 to help the cause but it wasn't enough as Fordham came up short. Kevin Cole took four for 34 from 14.5 overs, whilst Terry Hayden took three for 25 from nine.
