A group of Huntingdonshire sporting stars have enjoyed medal success on the international stage recently.

Ellie Mobbs, Erin Hall, Molly Power, Thomas Evans and Lewis Newark won bronze in the 200m and 500m mixed boat categories when representing the Great Britain Under 18 team at the European Nations Championships in Germany.

And there was further success for Mobbs, Hall and Power, along with another local paddler, Taylor Fernie, at Brandenburg an der Havel as they also captured bronze in the 500m ladies’ event.

Newark, Evans and Mobbs are members of the Cambridgeshire Royals club while Hall, Fernie and Power represent the St Neots Dragon Boat Team.

Another Cambridgeshire Royals member, Izzy Gallon, won seven medals as the drummer for the GB Premier team. Her haul was made up of two silvers and five bronzes.
