Huntingdon BRJ Run & Tri ace David Hudson added another success to his vast collection last Sunday.

Hudson powered to victory in the Thorney 5 race near Peterborough, completing the five-mile course in a fine time of 26.16.

Junior runner James Orrell, who is still 15, finished in an excellent 12th position in 30.35 while clubmates Alison Orrell (FV50) and Jude Newham (FV45) both collected second places in their age groups.

The Thorney event was used to stage the Cambridgeshire Five-Mile County Championships and five members of Hunts AC were successful.

Sean Barker triumphed in the M50 age group in a time of 30.38 while Bruce Gormley took the honours in the M60 section in 33.49.

Kelly Crawford (Senior Womens, 34.56), Pauline Stocker (W55, 39.26) and Hilary McConville (W65, 46.03) also triumphed.

Sole BRJ entrant Jeff Newham finished third in the accompanying 3km fun run. He was the first finisher in his Under 15 age bracket.
