Jack Burgin is all smiles as he powers to glory in the latest round of the Eastern Road Race League.

The St Ives Cycling Club star left the pack trailing in his wake to triumph in the Redbrige CC road race in Essex.

The 90km event featured seven laps of an undulating circuit around Hanningfield Reservoir.

Burgin went on the attack on the final lap and built an advantage of 10 seconds over the main bunch.

And he was able to keep them at bay during a downhill dash to the line in the final kilometre to taste victory in a season in which his progress has been held up by a couple of crashes.
