BRAMPTON Spartans U9 returned victorious from a tournament at Priory Parkside.

BRAMPTON Spartans U9 returned victorious from a tournament at Priory Parkside.

Spartans made it through the group stages unbeaten, qualifying as group winners to meet Chesterton Villa in the semi-final.

In a hard-fought match, the teams could not be separated, and the game went to penalties. The Spartans passed the test of nerve, with goalkeeper Euan Hamilton saving four out of five spot-kicks to ensure his team’s passage to the final.

Spartak 78 were the opponents in the final, with the game once again going to extra-time.

Penalties seemed to be the only way to separate the teams, but Marcus Read popped up in the nick of time to net the vital goal that sealed the title for Brampton.
