The unbeaten fighter returns to the scene of his greatest triumph when facing Michael Devine in a light welterweight contest on the big Heavy Duty bill at the O2 Arena in London. Martin captured the English title at the same capital venue back in January and has since added another victory to his collection by stopping Terry Needham in Liverpool three months ago. He could not be more confident about adding a 13th win to his fine record when taking on Luton man Devine in front of the Sky Sports cameras. And the fight was given extra significance today when it was confirmed the two men will battle for the vacant WBA Inter-Continental title with the winner being guaranteed a top-15 world ranking. Martin said: I can genuinely tell you I have never looked forward to a fight this much in my career. The O2 will always be a special place for me after winning the English belt there and I cannot wait to get into the ring and go to work again. It is a massively important fight as it can catapult me onto the world stage. Ive got to take care of business on Saturday and then I can think about some bigger fish to follow. I believe Devine is made for me. He says he is a power puncher, but Im not convinced as he is stepping up a weight. My preparations could not have gone any better. I had a couple of fantastic weeks at the MGM gym in Marbella and we have absolutely smashed the rest of the training camp since being back over here. Ive always been quietly confident ahead of my fights. This time Im more than confident. Martin will be cheered on by a 400-strong army of Team Gun fans when facing Devine, who has lost three of his 17 fights to date.
