CAMPOL’S Ryan Adair, 12, beat Jordan Sharp (Evans Boxing Academy) over three 60kg rounds last Thursday at St James’ WMC in Northampton by way of a unanimous points decision.
It was his best showing to date and was his fourth win in five bouts and sets him up nicely for this Saturday, when he boxes at a show in Reading.
Also in action in Northampton, 14-year-old Lewis Grant was left disappointed after the referee retired him in the first round of his 66kg three-rounder against Jan Baczynski (EBA).
Sergio Pita, meanwhile, was desperately unlucky when he sustained an arm injury in the second round of his 60kg bout with Andy Gheorgie (EBA), which forced the referee to stop it.
It was especially disappointing for Pita, 29, who had completely dominated and out-boxed his opponent in the first round.
Then on Saturday in Smethwick, 25-year-old Liam Melanie defeated Joe Pacouiao of Oldbury on points in their 75kg fight.
