Hinchingbrooke School pupils enjoyed success in the recent Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Lord Taverners Under 19 County Tournament.

Their '1' team triumphed in the physical disability section of an event organised by Living Sport and staged at Cambridge Regional College.

The victorious Hinchingbrooke quartet - captain Jabe Peake, Harry Parker, Tom Mayers and Sam Turner – They will now go on to represent the area at regional level later this year.

Hinchingbrooke 2 (featuring Amelia Sellens, Ashwin Gogna, Eden Owens and Rooney Kerridge) and Hinchingbrooke 3 (Jonathan Cross, Jacob Whittington and Alexander Dunford) were third and eighth respectively in the pan disability competition.

Ernulf Academy also entered two teams. Their 'A' squad of Jamie Welch, Jamie Walking and Matthew Yim Symons were 10th while the 'B' team of Bethany Martin, Caitlin Keatling, Euan Foster and Ryan Charles finished seventh.

Boccia is a fast-growing Paralympic sport similar to bowls. It gives physically disabled youngsters the chance to compete all the way up to international level.
