Captain Charlotte Edwards produced a mighty innings as England Ladies waltzed into the semi-finals of the Women’s World Twenty20 in style.

Edwards smashed an unbeaten 77 off just 61 balls – a knock including 10 boundaries – as her side romped to a 68-run success against Pakistan in their final Group B game on Easter Sunday.

England amassed 148-5 from their 20 overs before dismissing their opponents for just 80 to finish the group stage of the tournament in India with a 100 per cent record.

They now face Group A runners-up Australia in a semi-final tomorrow (Wednesday). It is a repeat of the last two finals in this tournament, both won by the Aussies.

Edwards, from Pidley, said: “We're looking forward to the game.

“Aside from those two finals we have a good record in this format of the game.

“We've got a lot of belief in our group and we know it is going to be one hell of a semi-final.”

West Indies and New Zealand meet in the other last-four showdown.
