Cromwell Lake

THE attendance was again good for Saturday's match at Cromwell Lake and, although catching was not easy in the unseasonally cold conditions, there were fish to be had for most of the anglers.

The match was won by Ian Benton from peg 27 with 17lb 10oz of big fish, but pleasingly both Stan and Mark Dickerson in second and third places caught a net of small fish plus bonus ones.

Stan was second with 9lb 14oz, which included a bonus white koi carp. Mark was third, weighing in one bream as well as his small catch, although he lost additional bream which would have put him at least second.

Graham Goodwin was fourth, maintaining his consistent form, with father and son Eric and Elliott Turner taking the next places.

RESULT: 1 Ian Benton, VDE Stanjay MG 17lb 10oz, 2 Stan Binge, VDE Stanjay MG 9lb 14oz, 3 Mark Dickerson, 7lb 12oz, 4 Graham Goodwin, Brampton 6lb 13oz, 5 Eric Turner, St Albans 3lb 9oz.

Grahams Pond

WITH the weather still very cold for April, fishing is not good and although the odd big fish was lost the weights were poor again this weekend.

Saturday's match was won by Dan Howes after John Swain's day had been ruined by breaking his pole while in the lead. John did win Sunday's "winner takes all" match, however, albeit with just 2lb 4oz of tench.

The draw for this year's inter-pub and club knockout competition sponsored by Plumb-It takes place on saturday at 3.30pm at the Three Horseshoes, Great Stukeley. Anyone wishing to enter must do so before then (01480 351034).

Ramsey AC

SUNDAY'S match was fished on Magpie Lake at Rookery Farm, Pidley, and saw a win for Andrew Kilby with 15lb 4oz.
