HUNTINGDONSHIRE Fencing Club's Matt Dalton continued his form at the Ashton Open Epee. The Ashton event found him in improving form and after the two seeding rounds Matt was ranked no. 3. The 1/4 finals had set him against Manchester's Rick Kent and again Matt came out victorious 15 - 7. In his semi-final he came up against sterner opposition in the form of David Gregory of Wrexham (ranked No.32 nationally). Although Matt put up a great effort it was Gregory who took control at the end of the bout scoring four hits without reply leaving Matt in bronze medal position.
