Lee Bassett made a goalscoring return to the Eynesbury Rovers team today.
Bassett, who has had a break from the game, was among the scorers in a 6-0 derby drubbing of bottom side Huntingdon in the United Counties League Premier Division.
Bassett doubled the home side’s lead in the ninth minute at Hall Road after James Freshwater had made the initial breakthrough from the penalty spot.
Darren Woodend hit a double late in the first half before Rob Ducket and recent signing Jamie Blackwell added further goal in the final quarter-of-an-hour.
Rovers go to Peterborough Northern Star on Monday while Huntingdon entertain Wisbech at Jubilee Park, both 3pm kick-offs.
