Basketball: Hawks win Plate competition

SUPERB Huntingdon Hawks defeated Bury St Edmunds Bulldogs 86-69 in the final of the Cambridge Basketball League Plate competition last Sunday.

SUPERB Huntingdon Hawks defeated Bury St Edmunds Bulldogs 86-69 in the final of the Cambridge Basketball League Plate competition last Sunday.

The experienced Hawks team took control of the game from the first tip to the final buzzer and never lost the lead.

Hawks were led by Greg Richards with 24 points and he was followed by duo Will Mosley (21 points) and Alan Shea (13 points) – who were both playing their last game before heading back to the States.

The Hawks team for the final was: Ryan Mills, Will Mosley, Alan Shea, Greg Richards, Mike Barclay, Marek Marciniak, Liam Hemming, Austin Kelly and Dan Wedekind – coached by Rob Knapper.
