St Peters Road was the stage for five 20/20 clashes between the Under 25 sides of Austria and Norway last week. Long-serving Huntingdon & District committee member and groundsman Freddie Khan was instrumental in bringing the two sides to the town for a series that Austria won 3-2. Huntingdon & District captain Navid Ahmed said: It was a wonderful experience for our club to be able to host a series of this nature. Massive credit goes to Freddie for organising it and also to our overseas player, Graham Hudson, for helping with the preparation of some great batting wickets which produced almost 400 runs in the first game alone. Both sets of coaches were very happy with the facilities and the teams enjoyed the experience of playing on a proper turf wicket as they only have artificial wickets in their own countries. The Austrians won the opening three matches to secure overall victory before Norway won the final two games.
