Hunts AC competitors earned a medal and a club record at the South of England and Eastern Masters Indoor Championships last Sunday.

The medal success at Lee Valley was provided by Sandra Pedley as she finished second in the South of England W50 pole vault. Pedley produced a clearance of 1.80m.

Ty Farrer set a new Hunts AC best for the indoor 3,000m with a time of 9.58 – that was quite a feat for an athlete who had already competed in 400m, 800m and 1,500m events.

Farrer was also in action the previous day when leading the Hunts AC senior men’s team into National Cross-Country Championships battle. Farrer finished 591st out of well over 2,000 runners at Parliament Hill in London.

Rising star Issy Wilkins was the club’s top performer at that event as she finished 39th in a Under 15 Girls race which featured an entry of 464 runners.
