Their athletes delivered a series of terrific performances to reign at the Embankment Track in Peterborough.

Ayo Opaleye was arguably the pick of many fine Hunts AC performers as he broke the championship triple jump record – which had stood for 38 years – when leaping to 12.25m to win the Under 15 Boys triple jump.

Opaleye also captured high-jump glory with a 1.60m clearance and added a silver medal to his collection in the 200m in a personal best of 24.97.

Willow Bedding also set a new county championship best – twice – on her way to Under 13 Girls discus delight.

Her efforts of 22.70m and 23.42m both bettered the previous mark which had stood since 2005.

Bedding also set a new club record in the process and climbed to fifth in the national rankings before taking silver in the shot putt with a personal best of 7.66m.

Ella Reed was jumping for joy after Under 15 Girls long jump (4.70m) and triple jump (9.43m) victories. She also bagged a bonus bronze medal in the 100m.

Sprint king Julian Priest did the 100m (11.38) and 200m (23.01) double in the Under 17 Men’s section while Shannon Flockhart triumphed over 800m (season’s best of 2.13.34) and 300m (42.52) in the Under 17 Women bracket.
