HAJAC Teams of Six Winter Series

ROUND two of this year's series was fished on Raveley Drain and Factory Bank on Sunday.

Teamwise, the top two were the same as last week with Browning Hotrods finishing first with 19 points and Stanjay Special second with 22.

Peterborough were third and March Select fourth, a vast improvement from last week's ninth place.

March Select also provided the individual winner on the day, John Young who caught 11lb 8oz from Raveley Drain beating many anglers far more experienced on the venue with comparitive ease.

The next five anglers all came from Raveley with Wades' Mick King's 6lb 8oz the best of those pegged at Factory Bank. Second in the match was Wades Dale Stones with 9lb 15oz just half an ounce ahead of Hotrods' captain Tim Nash. Peterborough duo Steve Goodrun and Paul Green were fourth and fifth and promising youngster Josh Pace an excellent individual sixth.

Stanjay Saturday Open Match

THERE were only five anglers present for Saturday's match and although the main river was fishable, the lack of rain in recent months has resulted in the river being far too clear. Paul Kilby won the match with 1lb 9oz and Ray Myring and Ian Benton shared second place with just ounces. This week's match will be held on Cromwell Lake which has more colour and should hopefully provide better fishing.

RESULT: 1 Paul Kilby, Ramsey 1lb 9oz, 2 = Ian Benton, VDE Stanjay MG and Ray Myring, St Ives 3oz.

Ramsey AS

SUNDAY saw an ACA pike qualifier fished at Ramsey St Mary's with 33 pike caught for a total weight of 120lb 2oz. Ramsey match secretary Keith Rayment won the match with 11 pike for 43lb 14oz. Keith has already secured a place in the final so the next two anglers qualify, Neil Johnston with eight pike for 30lb 13oz and Bob Tyrkot with 14lb 4oz.

RESULT: 1 Keith Rayment 43lb 14oz, 2 Neil Johnson 30lb 13oz, 3 Bob Tyrkot 14lb 4oz.

Lawn Farm

THERE were three new names in the frame for last Tuesday's Golden Rod match. The winner was John Pratt who caught 9lb 14oz of perch, chublets and carp from peg 34. Brian Walker and Norman Oakes both from Witchford were second and third of the 18 anglers.

RESULT: 1 John Pratt, GT Paxton 9lb 14oz, 2 Brian Walker, Witchford 9lb 3oz, 3 Norman Oakes, Witchford 6lb 12oz.

St Neots AC

ONLY one person caught in Sunday's match between St Neots and Blunham. K Culip was the lucky angler who caught two chub for 7lb 13oz.

Benwick AC

WE have the result of the Roach Cup fished at Chapel Farm during January and won by Kevin Gaunt with 11lb. The back up weights were also good with Tony Ingram, Josh Pace and Jon Seekins all catching at least six and a half pounds.

RESULT: 1 Kevin Gaunt 11lb, 2 Tony Ingram 8lb 6oz, 3 Josh Pace 6lb 11oz, 4 Jon Seekins 6lb 8oz.

Godmanchester Pike

THE youngster pictured with the pike is 12-year-old Tom Lukey of Godmanchester. He caught the double figure pike in January and it was weighed for him by two other people fishing at the time. If the anglers who weighed the pike recognise the young man (or the fish) could they contact Stan on 01480 453303.

Stanjay Sports/Van Den Eynde Angler of the Week
