THE River Ouse at Dolphin Meadow, St Ives, was the venue for Brampton's Albert Bullett Memorial match. Although the river was fishable, the strong and turbulent flow was not ideal and catches were lower than anticipated.

Colin Oliver found some good skimmers and perch on the feeder to win the match with 12lb 10oz. Kevin Medlock was second with 9lb 7oz of roach taken on the waggler. Paul Anderson caught the only bream of the day to finish third with 8lb.
RESULT: 1 Colin Oliver 12lb 10oz, 2 Kevin Medlock 9lb 7oz, 3 Paul Anderson 8lb, 4 Roger Gowler 6lb.

DESPITE the river in Dolphin Meadow looking as if fishing would be excellent, the results were disappointing for this match at the venue.
Duncan Ray followed last weekend's Division One National success with a win on his local water, catching 8lb 7oz to finish ahead of Colin Leach and Chris Geeson.
RESULT: 1 Duncan Ray 8lb 7oz, 2 Colin Leach 7lb 11oz, 3 Chris Geeson 7lb 5oz.

SUNDAY'S Whitwell Memorial match was fished at Halfpeny Toll and was won by Andrew Rayment with 8lb 11oz. Andrew Kilby was second and Harry Young, continuing his recent good form, was third.

ROUND two of the King of the Pond series was won by Mark Baines with 8lb 14oz in a close and exciting contest which leaves the title open at the halfway stage.

LAST week's Golden Rod Open match was won by Huntingdon's Roger Abbott with 24lb, caught using pellet and paste to catch carp.

WITH the final this coming weekend, anglers are taking the chance for final practice sessions. Weights have been pretty consistent in recent weeks and the final should be close.
