Bob Nudd at Coaching Day for Young People

THE Environment Agency has, over recent months, been running a pioneering 'Introduction to Angling' course in conjunction with Cottenham Village College.

The course gives participants the opportunity to gain an N-OCN qualification and last week four-time world champion Bob Nudd was present at Atkins Water in Waterbeach.

Nudd spent the day fishing with the students, giving advice and guidance and also presenting them with their certificates for passing the course.

The course, which has been a tremendous success, has provided vital opportunities for students to develop learning skills, increase their attention span and develop self-confidence.

Both Martin Croxon, lead youth instructor at Cottenham Village College and Kye Jerrom, Environment Agency technical officer, were amazed at how successful the course has been and the level of skill achieved by the students.
