LAST Saturday, eight anglers fished on the backs at Godmanchester, with the successful angler on the day being Ramsey's Paul Kilby, who caught bleak at close range for 5lb 12oz.

In second place was Steve Gordon, who managed to put 5lb of mixed silver fish on the scales and in third place was Dennis Holliday, who had 4lb 8oz.

Ramsey Winter League

ROUND four of this year's Ramsey Winter League was fished at H'penny Toll at Benwick on Sunday.

With everyone looking for a low draw it was Paul Kilby who once again came out on top with 3lb 10oz of roach, making it a most successful weekend for the Ramsey Rod, who managed to win both the matches he fished. In second place was Keith Rayment, who came up just short with 3lb 8oz from the unfancied area away from the bridge at peg nine, while third place went to Pete Kirlew, with 2lb 5oz.

Lawn Farm Sunday Sweepstake

LAST Sunday, 12 anglers fished on Willow Lake at Lawn Farm and the winner was the in-form Trevor Oakman, following up last week's win on Raveley Drain with 17lb 4oz of carp and bream.

Second place went to Dave Rawlings, who found a carp along with assorted sliver fish to put 10lb 4oz on the scales.

Third place was Mack McFiggins who managed two carp for 7lb 14oz while Paul Hendy was in fourth place with 7lb 4oz.

Lawn Farm Tuesday Open

SIXTEEN anglers lined the banks of Willow Lake last Tuesday and it was Dennis Holliday, from Biggleswade, who came away with the win. He fished a straight lead with maggot for 25lb 13oz of carp from peg 33. In second place was Mack McFiggins, who had 17lb 4oz of carp from peg 35, and he also found the straight lead was the best method.

In third place was Andy Pollard, the Luton angler, who fished peg 29 for carp and chubblets for 13lb 12oz.

Ramsey Junior Pike Match

THIS weekend the Ramsey juniors fished on the Old Nene at Stafford's Bridge, Matthew Stokes managed to tempt out two pike for a winning weight of 11lb 7oz.

In second place was Emma Boon, who also managed to catch two pike for 8lb 12oz, although she also lost a fish that may have been enough to win. In third place was Chris Cumbridge, who caught a small jack pike for 2lb 8oz.
