HAJAC Winter Series Round ThreeTHE third and final round of this year's winter series was again fished on Raveley Drain, and the match was dominated by the lads from Brampton, as they took three of the top four placings. The winner on the day was Kevin Peacock, with three tench in his net plus some silver fish for 14lb.Second was Stanjay angler Steve Gordon, who managed two tench plus some silver fish for 10lb and in third place was Chris Saunders, who had 9lb in his catch which also contained a tench. Fourth place went to Paul Irons, who caught 7lb.Brampton Winter PairsTHIS year's competition is being led by last year's winners, Paul Irons and Kevin Medlock. This week's match was held on the popular Raveley Drain and, once again, this tiny water provided top quality sport. Kevin Medlock took the spoils with 9lb 4oz of roach with pinkie and hemp, with John Pratt in second place, after he landed a 4lb bream on his five meter whip in the last minutes of the match to weigh in 8lb 14oz.Third place went to Graham Goodwin with 8lb 11oz and in fourth was Mick Sonnet,, who had 8lb exactly.The pairs result on the day once again went to Irons and Medlock, who extended their lead by a further three points.CURRENT STANDINGS1 Kevin Medlock and Paul Irons 55 points, 2 Graham Goodwin and Dave Silsby 48 points, 3 Colin Oliver and Mick Sonnet 46 points.Stanjay Christmas MatchTHIS match was fished last Saturday and once again Raveley Drain was the venue, with Trevor Oakman taking the win with 10lb 8oz of roach. Mick Kelly was second with 9lb 1oz and third place went to Paul Hatfield with 9lb exactly.Stanjay SweepstakeTHIS match was fished last Sunday at Decoy on Yew Lake. Dave Rawlings came through the field to catch 46lb 8oz, in second place was Trevor Oakman who completed a successful weekend with 46lb 2oz, while third place went to Dean Lack, who had 30lb.Ramsey AS ACA Pike QualifierA TURN-OUT of 22 anglers attended this qualifying match held at Stafford's Bridge, with the top two qualifying for the final. The winner was organiser Keith Rayment, who landed four pike in his 21lb 6oz weight. In second place was Hugh Coulson, who tempted six pike for 16lb 2oz, and in third place was Norman Nightly, who caught five pike for 15lb 13oz.Lawn Farm Tuesday Open THIS week's match was fished on Willow Lake, with Bob Walker fishing a straight lead with red maggot catching 26lb of carp and perch from peg 34.In second place was Mick Burge, fishing peg 28 and catching 16lb 8oz of carp and chubb. Third place went to Michael Bolton, fishing peg 14 to catch 11lb 13oz, which contained a carp along with some chubb. Fourth place went to John King with 8lb 3oz.Stanjay Saturday OpenWITH the Stanjay squad's Christmas match being held on the same day as this, only six anglers turned up to fish Saturday's open at Godmanchester, fished on the Mill Lode section with Ramsey's Paul Kilby winning with 2lb 8oz.
