FOX Match Stanjay Black reeled in Van Den Eynde to dramatically snatch the HAJAC Winter League in the final match of the season. Van Den Eynde looked odds on to lift the title as they went into the match with a six point lead over Wades and seven over the Blacks but they cast it all away as the Stanjay team stormed home.

The final match of this year's winter league was fished on Sunday with two sections in Benwick Village, two on Ramsey Narrows and two at Ramsey St Mary's.

Conditions were good with some excellent weights recorded and the Eynde team were unlucky with the draw but take nothing away from the Stanjay team as Bob Nudd, James Drakulic and Brian Gibson all finished second in their sections with Graham Welton, Stan Binge and Ricky Young all also in the top five.

Individually March's Jay Richardson drawn on Ramsey Narrows caught seven tench to comfortably win the match with 30lb 7oz. Alan Lemmon was second from the same venue and Dave Rowell just ounces behind in third from Benwick village.

WEIGHT's were low but it was a close match last Sunday at Staffurth's Bridge. Roger Gowler the winner also took the small golden peg fund as he finished just 4oz ahead of Paul Kilby.

LAWN Farm was the venue for last Saturday's match with better weights in the warmer conditions. Nigel Fawkes was the guy to beat as he stormed home ahead of Chris Young and John Logan.

Mick Sonnett from Godmanchester was on song when he won last Tuesday's Golden Rod match on Willow Lake with 19lb 2oz.
