Interim boss Andy Davies has paid tribute to the St Neots Town fans for backing his revolution.
Davies has remodelled Saints’ style of play since stepping into the hotseat in a caretaker capacity following the January resignation of David Batch.
The club have also edged towards Southern League Premier Division safety during that time with a 1-1 draw at play-off hopefuls Kettering last Saturday putting them eight points above the drop-zone with six games to go.
Davies is hoping for more brilliant backing tomorrow (3pm) when Saints host Frome in a ‘vital’ clash. It also provides a quick chance for revenge after they suffered a 3-2 defeat in the reverse fixture last Wednesday.
Davies said: “St Neots Town is a club that has been renowned for playing good football in the past and we want that to be the case again going forward.
“I think that is something the fans have welcomed and their support has been great since I took over. I can’t thank them enough for being behind myself and the players.
“The backing was particularly good at Kettering last Saturday. We were up against an in-form team in front of a crowd of more than 550, but our fans let us know we weren’t there on our own.

“They sung their hearts out from start to finish and it made a real difference.
“Our performance at Frome in the previous game was worthy of a result and it was very disappointing to have to face that long journey back with nothing.
“It is now a vital game at our place and the better surface will suit us. Three points will put us much closer to safety and we need as many people as possible behind us.
“The crowds have fallen this year and I think that is down to the old style of football, but we have gone back to playing in the manner our fans have been used to and attendances are starting to go up again.”
Davies misses the Frome clash due to being overseas with the club’s junior sides, but returns when Saints go to King’s Lynn on Easter Monday, 3pm.
Director of football Iain Parr and player/assistant boss Adam Tann will be in charge tomorrow against Frome.
