Jonny Carpenters side cruised to a seven-wicket Whiting & Partners Division One triumph at Cricketfield Lane after tormenting their hosts. Pace ace Joe Dawborn bagged 4-19 to spearhead a smart bowling performance as Ramsey were dismissed for 144 a modest total yet significantly more than it appeared they might manage when reduced to 16-5 early on. All-rounder Charlie Morrison provided some resistance with a half-century. He hit 54 before Chris Parkins added a boundary-laden 38 off 29 balls. Eaton Socon shrugged off the early loss of skipper Carpenter for a duck to complete an emphatic win as young prospect Olly Jefferies hit a second half-century at this level with an unbeaten 56. Matt Pateman (40) and Michael Pickard (37no) were also in the runs to ensure Eaton Socon remained 26 points behind joint-leaders Saffron Walden and Sawston & Babraham. They have a game in hand on both of their title rivals. Waresley were unable to do Eaton Socon any favours when falling to a nine-wicket defeat at Sawston & Babraham. They were skittled for just 76 with Aussie ace Dan Cummins (22) the only man able to make it into double-figures on a day when the hosts needed only 10.2 to complete their victory. Godmanchester Town also suffered a nine-wicket hiding at Wisbech despite a half-century from Adam Cousins. He was responsible for 52 of his sides 152 total with former Leicestershire bowler James Sykes (29) and South African import Josh Wesson (27) providing the only other contributions of note. In fact five Godmanchester men Oliver Greenhow, Amit Gupta, Paul Swannell, Matthew Luck and Paul Greenhow failed to score. St Ives saw their Whiting & Partners Division Two title hopes fade further following a second successive defeat. A career-best performance from Shaun Asplin proved to be in vain as the locals went down by 43 runs in a low-scoring clash at Ufford Park. Asplin returned terrific figures of 6-21 as the home side were sent packing for 93, but St Ives could only limp to 50 in reply with Ricky Greiller (19) the only man in double-figures. Huntingdon & District certainly werent short of runs as they showed no mercy to rock-bottom Great Shelford. Faisal Javed hit a brilliant century as they thumped the basement side, who are without a victory all season, by 200 runs. The openers 119 helped Huntingdon & District pile up 294-4 with overseas star Graham Hudson smacking a quickfire 43no after Martin Burton (39) and Andrew Wright (33) had both offered solid support to star turn Javed. Hudson then led the way with the ball, bagging 4-10 from just four overs, as Great Shelford were removed for 94. Waqas Mahmud and skipper Navid Ahmed claimed a couple of wickets apiece.CAMBS & HUNTS PREMIER LEAGUEWhiting & Partners Division OneRAMSEY lost to EATON SOCON by 7 wkts Ramsey 144 (C. Morrison 54, C.
