Two Huntingdon BRJ Run & Tri members enjoyed a ‘Lode’ of success last weekend.

Husband and wife duo David and Annette Newton both collected age-group honours in a half-marathon event in the Cambridgeshire village.

David was the first M60 runner to cross the finish line in 44th position overall after clocking 1:41.43 while Annette took the W60 spoils in 1:49.50 to take 85th place. Simon Somerville-Large (69th, 1:47.14) and Amanda Rowland-Convey (95th, 1:51.49) completed the same event.

There was also success for another BRJ runner in the final 10k race to be staged at the Rockingham Motor Speedway venue near Corby. John Uff triumphed in a time of 34.58.

Four other BRJ members took part in the Bonfire Burn 10k around the outskirts of Cambridge. Paulus Maukonen was the pick of the punch with a personal best of 43.02 to finish 91st. Karen Maukonen (477th, 55.02), Tracey Bousfield (889th, 1:12.04) and Ainslie Bousfield (904th, 1:13.08) also ran.
