HUNTINGDON rower Edward Adams has completed his most successful season in rowing by winning Elite Sculls races at regattas in Shrewsbury, Ironbridge, Monmouth and Sudbury.
Adams, who has been involved in the sport for more than 17 years, is a member at Huntingdon Boat Club and has represented the club at singles, doubles, fours and eights.
The first outing of the season at Shrewsbury proved one of the most difficult races and Adams just scraped home in first place. The events that followed were won on the back of a hard year-long personal training programme, as he took wins at three other regattas.
Adams is now focused on winning a national medal over 2,000m, as well as picking up wins in Head of the River races across the country.
He has already represented the Boat Club at the Henley Regatta, the national championships and as well as events abroad. In total, he has won more than 90 events since joining the club.
INFORMATION: Huntingdon Boat Club would like to encourage new junior rowers aged 15 and 16 to follow in Adams’ footsteps. To find out more, contact the club chairman on 01487 822033.
