St Ives Swimming Club put in a good show at the Newmarket County Development Championships at the weekend.

The club reports that 15 swimmers took medals and achieved lifetime bests.

They were: Soufian Abdelrazek; Hannah Pye; Eloise Palmer; Camille Palmer; Oliver Dixon; Felix Butterworth; Barney Edwards; Matt Lynch; Finley Terry; Maria Zhurbenko Saczawa; Flo Taylor; Edie Lewis; Belle Taylor; Eleanor Weeden, Maya New and Toby Jones.

The competition sits just below the County A Championships and gives swimmers a chance to gain qualifying times.

At Nova Centurion Meet in Nottingham, St Ives swimmer Luke Tunstall won the 50 Free in 22.87 swimming under his Loughborough university colours and also there was Tessa Quayle who came seventh in the 50 breast stroke and ninth in the 100 breast stroke respectively.

There was also success for swimmer Will Roberts (British champion) at the Down Syndrome Swimming GB competition.

He came first in the male open 200 metres IM.
