St Neots Hockey Club Men's 1s finished a stellar season in emphatic style by beating Cambridge South 4s 13-0.

With promotion to Division 2NW already secured, the Saints were in no mood to slow down and thumped in 13 unanswered goals from nine different scorers to end on a high and extend their impressive unbeaten streak to 17 games.

Saints raced into a strong lead with Bradley Forsdick, Harry Pybus, Phil McMorris and Rory Jones all scoring within the first ten minutes.

Iain Moor then scored in his last match for the first team, and Andrew Baldwin made it six before halftime.

The hosts started the second half as they ended the first with captain Michael Hornby scoring the seventh before Freddie Spavins slotted home the eighth, which was the Saint's 100th goal of the season.

David Martin rounded the keeper and became the ninth scorer of the game, with McMorris scoring twice more and Martin and Jones scoring again to finish with a flourish.

McMorris' hattrick meant he ended the season with 41 goals, accounting for nearly 40 per cent of all the team's goals across the season.

After the game, a guard of honour was set up for Moor, who has represented the club for 35 years, with most of that time spent in the first team.

Elsewhere, the Women's 1s endured a disappointing end to their season, losing 2-0 at home to Peterborough 2s on March 28 and then losing their final home game 3-0 to Cambridge City 3s on April 1.

However, not to be outdone by the Men's 1s, the Women's 2s equalled their biggest win of the season as they hammered Kettering 3s 16-0, with Sue Glover scoring eight and finishing as the club's top scorer with 45 goals.

The Women's 3s secured an exciting 2-2 draw against Cambridge Nomads 2s, but both Men's 2s and Men's 3s lost 4-0 to Cambridge City sides.
