Brampton and Warboys could not be separated in the first year five/six schools Mixed Football Spring Term competition with a "fantastic" standard of football on display.

Around 13 schools, 18 teams and more than 150 children joined on February 7 at the St Ives Outdoor Centre to participate in the Hunts School Sports Partnership's (HSSP) tournament, which provided children with an opportunity to participate in a competitive football competition.

HSSP Manager & School Games Organiser Doug Finlayson said: "The standard of football was fantastic throughout the event, with plenty of close matches and lots of goals scored."

There were 46 matches played across six pitches, with teams initially split into groups before progressing onto two rounds of placing games against an equivalent placed team from other groups.

The event was also "superbly" supported by year 9 sports leaders from Hinchingbrooke School, who refereed every match.

Doug added: "Thank you to all schools for attending and making the event a huge success."
