UCL Premier Division --- Holbeach United 1-3 St Neots Town ---

SAINTS continued to keep the pressure on league leaders Daventry Town with a professional display at Carters Park.

Dan Jacobs netted his third goal in a week since signing from Deeping Rangers, despite suffering from a foot injury.

Saints boss Steve Lomas will be pleased to see his strikeforce sharing the burden of goalscoring, as Josh Sozzo and the returning Jon Mitchell also got on the scoresheet.

At a venue that has traditionally been a bogey ground for them, St Neots looked in control from the off, with Rob Hughes keeping things ticking in midfield.

It took over half an hour for Saints to make the possession count, when Nicky Hurst's knockdown was turned in by Jacobs.

Ten minutes later it was two when Michael Hyem fed Josh Sozzo, whose low shot was fumbled by the home keeper.

The visitors were denied a third before the break when Sozzo netted only to find he had been pulled back for an infringement.

The second half began more sedately but with their first effort of the half, Holbeach pulled a goal back as Cymon Lamb hit a low shot past Luke McShane.

Substitute Jon Docker replaced Paul Garrett and made an impact by setting up the all-important third goal for St Neots. He beat his marker on the right and crossed to find Jon Mitchell who finished superbly.

Saints now face a run of three home matches from their next four league games as they look to reel in Daventry Town at the top of the UCL Premier.
