KARL Hiner of Riverside Runners smashed the course record for the Pathfinder March by an astonishing 40 minutes to win this year’s event.
Hiner completed the 46-mile course, consisting of a loop from RAF Wyton linking up former and current airbases across Huntingdonshire, in 7hr 55mins.
The runners started at 8am, four hours after the walkers, and Hiner led home a Huntingdonshire clean sweep as he was followed home by Andy Richardson and Adrian Woolven.
The Hunts AC pair completed the gruelling challenge in 8hrs 1min, also comprehensively beating last year’s record.
Riverside Runner Mark Beagley finished in 9hrs 13min, with Helen Liddle crossing the line in 11hrs 55mins for a PB and the prize of first O45 Lady. For Hunts AC, Wayne Gimblett finished in 8hrs 27, Paul Rayner in 9hrs 15mins, and Ian Marshall and Shane Hunt in 9hrs 40mins.
