ST NEOTS Town and Eynesbury Rovers veteran teams contest the Dave Jackson Memorial match
ST NEOTS Town and Eynesbury Rovers veteran teams will line up against each other to play the Dave Jackson Memorial match on Sunday at the Hunts Post Community Stadium.
Jackson joined the U18 St Neots side in the 1979-80 season, and developed through the ranks at the Saints, but sadly passed away just over a year ago. He will always be remembered for netting a goal in the Hinchingbrooke Cup Final win over Langford, the final game before Saints folded for three seasons. After the demise of the Saints, Jackson moved to Hall Road and saw out his career with Eynesbury Rovers.
The game will see a host of familiar names pull on their boots once again, including Eynesbury manager Matt Plumb, who will turn back the years and play for the visitors with other former team-mates. St Neots will have the mixed blessing of three managers on the bench with Mel Hancock, Mick Kemp, and Terry Reedman taking charge of a team stacked full of past players.
