HUNTS Cricket Board U15 squad attended Grafham Water during the Easter holidays for a team-building event as part of their season preparations.

The event was made possible by a kind donation from the Huntingdon Rotary Club and saw 12 of the squad attend a day of mixed activities, organised by HCB development officer David Summers, in conjunction with Grafham’s lead instructor Gareth Whitfield.

The day had a range of physical and mental challenges to develop leadership, communication and teamwork.

Hunts U17 captain Rob Sayer also attended the event to offer support and share previous squad experiences.

• EATON SOCON made it back-to-back wins in Rutland Division Two with a comprehensive nine-wicket victory over Wisbech.

Batting first, Wisbech were restricted to 158-8 thanks to debutant Chris Box taking 4-32.

Eaton then knocked off the runs with five overs to spare, for the loss of only one wicket, thanks largely to Jonny Carpenter’s unbeaten 84.

Meanwhile, last season’s Tucker Premier Division champions Camden began the defence of their title in fine style with an eight-wicket opening day victory at Godmanchester on Saturday.

Goddy, whose side contained just three of last season’s regulars, were all out for 195 in their innings after being put in to bat.

They batted well during the early stages of their innings, but collapsed dramatically, losing their last six wickets for just 18 runs.

The victory target of 196 was never going to be a real problem for the visitors on a batsman-friendly wicket, which they achieved with eight wickets still intact.

Ben Clement (50) did offer resistance for Goddy before being bowled out by former home favourite Alex Mutucumarana.
