Eaton Socon swept to the top of Tucker Gardner Division Two thanks to a dramatic derby success.

They triumphed at Huntingdon & District by three wickets and with three balls to spare. Jonny Carpenter led the way with 72.

Ben Thomas hit an unbeaten 66 as St Ives breezed to a nine-wicket win over Weston Colville.

They reached their rain-revised target of 106 with ease after earlier dismissing the hosts for 121. Joe Notarnicola helped himself to 4-8.

Chris Gilthorpe followed up a three-wicket haul with an innings of 60 as Kimbolton drew with Blunham.

Lee Ingram also took 4-38 to restrict the visitors to 163-8 but Kimbolton could only manage 146-9 in reply.

Matt Aldwinkle fell one run short of a half-century before final pair Rory Fenton and Ian Puckle stood strong at the finish.

There is a familiar look to the top of the Tucker Gardner League Division One table.

Local sides Godmanchester and Ramsey, who battled it out for the title last summer (a duel eventually won by the latter) are leading the way again.

Godmanchester continue to set the pace despite suffering a second successive Saturday of frustration when held to a draw at Histon.

Just as against Saffron Walden seven days earlier they excelled with the bat but couldn’t finish the job with the ball on what was described as a ‘lifeless wicket’.

Byron Overstone top-scored with 63 in the Godmanchester posting of 260-7 while big-hitting Simon Rose bashed another quickfire half-century. His 53 off 30 balls included seven sixes.

But Histon replied doggedly to reach 208-5.

Ramsey have closed to within two points of their local rivals after cruising past Waresley by eight wickets.

Michael Cafferkey was the star turn as he followed up fine figures of 4-21 with a top-scoring contribution of 55 for the reigning champions.

Ian Donald was the only Waresley batsman to offer much resistance as he hit 71 - just over half of their 141 total.

Ramsey were set a rain-reduced target of 132 for victory and Cafferkey’s knock, combined with an unbeaten 52 from in-form opener James Markland, ensured they managed it with ease.

Warboys went down by 36 runs against Burwell 2nds. The locals were dismissed for 160 in their pursuit of a target of 197.
