Stukeley Meadows Under 14s ended their long wait for success by winning a weekend tournament.
The village team did not win a single game throughout last season, but they found their form in style on Sunday at the Priory Parkside six-a-side event.
The Stukeley White side, featuring Imi Kennedy, Rebecca Tisbury, Helena Azevedo Leitao, Beth Paton, Tamsyn Sibanda and Charlotte Warren-Palmer, triumphed in three of their five group games and then beat Glinton and Northbrorough 1-0 in the semi-finals thanks to a Tisbury strike.
They beat Priory Parkside by the same scoreline in the final thanks to a Kennedy effort although they had to survive a late scare as the host team missed a penalty.
βIt was a great day for the team to take forward,β said delighted manager Jason Tisbury.
