Huntingdon star Louis Smith collected a silver medal at the World Championships yesterday.
Smith took second spot in the individual pommel horse final at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow.
The 26 year-old looked to have delivered a title-winning routine when racking up a terrific 16.033 score.
But fellow Great Britain ace Max Whitlock eclipsed him with a stunning 16.133 performance of his own to snatch gold.
Smith said: “There are seven-and-a-half billion people on this planet and Max and myself are one and two on the pommel horse.”
Smith, along with Whitlock, had helped Great Britain win silver in the men’s team final earlier in the week.
Their performance in Scotland also secured qualification for the Olympics next year.
Smith added: “I am happy with the job I have done this week and we have qualified as a team for Rio.”
