Godmanchester Rovers were presented with the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division runners-up shield before signing off in smooth style.
Rovers clinched a second successive second-placed finish in midweek, but continued their fine winning streak in their finale at Ipswich Wanderers today.
Luke Seaber-Shinn provided an early breakthrough that set Matt Clements men on the way to a 3-0 success – their 19th victory in a 20-match unbeaten league run stretching back to mid-December.
Jonny Hall doubled their advantage just before half-time and Luke Brown put the outcome beyond doubt in the second period with their 130th league goal of the campaign.
Rovers have finished four points behind champions Norwich United – a margin which highlighted the local side’s progress. They had finished 26 points adrift of them last term when they also occupied the top two positions in the table.
