Former St Ives hockey player Hannah MacLeod is one game away from a gold medal.
MacLeod, who grew up in Buckden, helped the Great Britain team each the final of the women’s hockey tournament in Rio last night.
She was part of the side which beat New Zealand 3-0 in a semi-final showdown to set-up a showpiece clash against a Holland side, aiming for a third successive Olympic title, tomorrow (Friday).
It means MacLeod is assured of bettering the bronze medal she won in London four years ago.
The 32 year-old reached a major milestone during the group stages in Rio when winning her 150th international cap.
