White Hart dominated the Huntingdonshire Indoor Finals last weekend.
The Warboys club provided the winners of seven of the nine finals to be staged during two days of county competition at Huntingdon IBC.
Joe Randall completed a singles double, beating Dennis Weston 21-14 in the Men’s showpiece and then seeing off clubmate Chloe Brett 21-12 in the Under 25 final.
In the process Randall denied Fenstanton man Weston a double of his own after he had retained the Men’s Senior Singles crown. Weston beat David Peak (Hemingford) 21-15 in a repeat of the 2017 final.
Brett was also pipped by a fellow White Hart bowler and England international in the Ladies Singles final, losing out 21-12 to Rebecca Moorbey, but she also enjoyed three successes and claimed a slice of revenge in the process.
Brett teamed up with her father – former World Indoor Singles champion Nicky – to win the Mixed Pairs thanks to a 22-17 success against Ed Elmore and Moorbey in an all-White Hart clash that went down to the final end.
The father-and-daughter duo also joined forces with Elmore to triumph in the Mixed Rinks when comprehensive 20-6 winners against another Warboys trio of Sue Swannell, stepson Lee Swannell and Steve Farrant.
There was a family triumph for Elmore as well. He formed a successful alliance with brother Rob and Simon Leader to beat fellow White Hart bowlers Farrant, Hayden Moorbey and Ross Martin 24-11 in the Men’s Rinks decider.
Siblings were in opposition in the Men’s Pairs as Neil Swannell and Ed Elmore provided another White Hart success when seeing off Ian Swannell and Chris Millard of Somersham 20-6.
There was further success for two White Hart representatives - Chloe Brett and Rebecca Moorbey – without bowling a ball. Their trio, which also included Juliet May of Buckden, received a walkover in the Ladies Rinks with opponents Jane Baldwin, Diana Barlow and Jenny Dymond unable to take part due to one player being ill and another unavailable.
St Ives bowler Baldwin actually benefitted from a walkover in the Ladies Senior Singles with rival Heather McKillop unable to attend.
McKillop had also been scheduled to partner Houghton & Wyton clubmate Margaret Elstub in the Ladies Pairs, but Pat Purssord of Buckden stepped in.
They led 13-9 at one stage, but opponents Nicky Verlander and Edith Gibbard (Huntingdon) fought back to win 18-13.
All winners will now represent Huntingdonshire in the national indoor finals at Newark next month.
