Alconbury Colts THE U15s saw off Priory 6-1, to reach the last four of the Hunts Cup. Tim Hollick notched four while Kyle Crook and Craig Magee completed the scoring. MoM was shared between defenders Josh Marriott and Sam Maryon. Tom Hunt got the winner, five minutes into the additional period. The lead changed hands four times with the other goals coming from Hunt and one each for top scorer James Gritton and Charlie Clay-Myers. Needingworth scored a deserved late goal after battling throughout. Goals from MoM Josh Chapman, Alex White, Stewart Bridge and an own goal put Rangers 4-0 up at half time and despite Waterbeach's best efforts, two more goals from Dominic Richardson and Richard Steinberg wrapped things up in the second half.BLUNTISHAM U12As turned in an efficient performance to brush aside a solid Soham Town team with a 6-2 win. A hat-trick by the excellent Tyler McEwen saw Rangers on their way as they stormed into a 3-0 lead.Chae Simmons combined well with Schweir and Peattie and a superb cross was forced home by the lively Parker. Bluntisham continued to push and Peattie, Simmons, Sterna and Parker all came close, while solid defensive work at the other end by Kehoe, Trewick and Styles saw the half-time score finish 4-0.After the break, unselfish play from Parker saw Sterna notch the fifth before Soham pulled one back.Bluntisham responded and the excellent Simmons twice brought good saves from the keeper. Soham threatened to make a game of it when scoring through a free kick to make it 5-2 before Simmons scored a superb free -kick to make it 6-2.IN a tough match, the U12Bs found themselves up against Alconbury from three divisions above. Despite a committed performance, Blunty's defence could not hold out and went down 16-0.However, a better second half was testament to the team's determination and MoM was Jack Moulds for some good defensive work.THE U8As were edged out 6-3 by a determined Swavesey Spartans side in wintry conditions. Swavesey quickly went into a two goal lead but were pegged back by a great strike from Ben Johnson, who hammered home his free kick at the second attempt. Swavesey went 3-1 up before MoM Luke Young scored from close range after a shot had been parried by the keeper.Bluntisham kept up the pressure but Swavesey scored twice in quick succession to make it 5-2. Harry Taylor scored for Blunty with a smart turn and shot before Swavesey wrapped up the game with a good finish to make the final score 6-3 to Swavesey. In the first five minutes the Harriers hit the post, hit the crossbar, and had two efforts cleared off the Comberton goal line and were very unlucky not to take the lead.Ten minutes into the second half Comberton scored the deciding goal from a well taken high corner. After an exciting first half, in which James Pearman in the Paxton goal pulled off some excellent saves, St Ives broke the deadlock in the second period when the ball found the back of the net after a goalmouth scramble.Paxton continued to attack and were rewarded with an equaliser when Sean Haran scrapped for the ball on the halfway line and fought his way to the area where he just beat the keeper to the ball to force the draw. Needingworth capitalised on some hard training before Christmas and strung together some great passing moves with MoM Charlie Wood being instrumental in many of these. SawtryTHE U10 Yellow Sox started 2006 with a tough away match at Priory B, and with both teams playing some excellent attacking football, it was the Yellow Sox who struck first through Charles Abblitt, and this gave them a 1-0 half-time lead. Priory came out in the second half in determined fashion and were rewarded with an equaliser, catching the Yellow Sox on the break. Priory then took the lead with a long range effort which squirmed in at the near post before Alex Parker scored a deserved equaliser, giving a final scoreline of 2-2. DESPITE a terrific performance, two goals conceded in the last five minutes meant a 3-1 defeat for Rangers U11Cs against high flying Godmanchester.
