THREE goals brought three points for St Neots' first XI as they defeated visiting Witham 3-2. Saints climbed to third place in the Eastern Counties Division 1 with the victory, Simon Jones' shot taking a deflection to give his side the lead.
The home side continued to dominate and Simba Chigwada pounced after the interval, following up an Iain Moor penalty corner strike. Witham pulled a goal back before Aron Swales converted an Allan Knox cross to restore Saints' lead.
The visitors pulled a goal back in a scramble at the end but St Neots hung on to secure three vital points.
Meanwhile, visitors Wisbech Town II ran in four goals to claim a 4-2 victory against St Neots III. Martin Newsom and Sean Sanderson scored the goals for Saints while St Neots IV had an excellent victory at Ely III, coming away 3-0 victors.
