Towcestrians 47 Huntingdon Stags 5
A SPINELESS display from Stags made it easy for the hosts as the visitors leaked seven tries.
Playing into a stiff wind, Stags conceded an early try when the hosts caught them napping with some quick line-outs to score in the corner.
Further slack defending in the first half allowed Towcestrians to score two more tries and go into the break with a 22-0 lead.
Any hope of a Stags revival evaporated in the first 10 minutes of the second half with the home side winning the loose ball and driving well in the scrum.
Matt Griggs grabbed a consolation try and could have had another as Stags exerted some late pressure but it was too little, too late.
Old Laurentians visit Hinchingbrooke on Saturday for a Senior EDF Energy Vase tie, kick-off is 2.30pm.
