UCL Premier Division
Long Buckby 3 St Neots Town 1
IVAN Finch pulled no punches after his side's nightmare performance at 10-man promotion rivals Long Buckby.
A number of the St Neots players only arrived 15 minutes before kick-off because of an accident on the M1, but some will have wished they were still on the motorway after a poor showing.
Joint-manager Finch said: "The whole team played poorly and we showed little imagination - especially after they went down to 10 men.
"There was a lack of concentration from players and, frankly, it just wasn't good enough."
Ben Foster gave Buckby the lead with a penalty after Dean McElroy had conceded the spot-kick before the home side were reduced to 10 men when Darren Harmon was dismissed for violent conduct.
St Neots failed to capitalise although Barrington Belgrave had a good claim for a penalty waved away.
Steve Blackwood doubled Buckby's lead before Steve Johnson pulled one back for Saints but a late goal from Foster compounded Saints' misery.
* Holbeach United are the visitors to Rowley Park on Saturday.
