The Magpas Air Ambulance was called in after a local footballer suffered a broken leg.

Somersham Town A player Mike Trewick sustained breaks to his tibia and fibula during a Cambs League clash at Fenstanton Reserves last Saturday.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed Trewick and administered advanced pain relief at the scene before he was taken to Hinchingbrooke Hospital by land ambulance. Trewick underwent surgery this morning.

The Division 5B game was halted for close to an hour before being completed. Home side Fenstanton Reserves triumphed 4-2.
