A trio of talented young cooks from Huntingdonshire took part in a competition to discover the best young chefs from across the East.

Hosted by the Rotary Club of Huntingdon Cromwell, the competition saw 15 youngsters tasked with preparing and cooking a three-course meal.

Among the competitors were Lizzie Thomas, from Ramsey, Jack Goodway, from Huntingdon, and Holly Toulson, from St Ives.

The event took place at Hinchingbrooke School, in Huntingdon, and was judged by Mick Gunney, Roger Sanderson and Jill Buswell.

The winner on the day was Rebecca Hughen, who was put forward for the event by the Rotary Club of Bourne, in Lincolnshire.

Rebecca will go forward to the national leg of the competition where she will compete against a host of other regional winners. The top prize includes a chance to cook at Jamie Oliver’s restaurant Fifteen.
