A young Huntingdon dancer has secured a second chance to perform with the English Youth Ballet.

Hinchingbrooke pupil Victoria Gibbons will take to the stage in the company’s production of Sleeping Beauty, in August.

The role comes after the 12-year-old performed alongside a cast of international principal dancers in Coppélia, at the Stamford Corn Exchange Theatre, earlier this month.

Rehearsals for Sleeping Beauty will take place in Sidcup, and will be supported by ballet star Amy Drew.

She said: “The advice that I give to the young dancers is that ballet is hard, but if you love it, it can be a beautiful and fulfilling career.”

Throughout the production, Victoria will be using the skills she has learned throughout her time at Huntingdonshire schools Generations Dance Academy and LL Dance and Performing Arts, as well as Central School of Ballet Associates.

The production will take place on August 25/26 at the Dartford Orchard Theatre.
