A Yelling woman had a drastic style change – from dreadlocks to a bob and all in aid of charity.
On Thursday (March 13) Sarah Taylor, a veterinary nurse, let hairdresser Katy Smith of Maverick Hairdressing in Eynesbury loose on her locks to raise money for Cobley Cob and Ex-racehorse Rescue in Bedfordshire.
Mrs Taylor, of the High Street, started her volunteering with the charity when they opened a couple of months ago and wanted to do something to help boost funds.
She said: “I started helping out there and they were looking for fundraising ideas.
“I tried to think of something a bit different to do.” So far, she has raised about £100, and is hoping that she can top that with more donations.
She said: “It’s a bit of a shock to the system, I’ve had dreads for two-and-a-half years and long hair for about 15 years.”
