Members of a quilting workshop in St Neots made 25 patchwork squares to represent the memory of a child or adult killed by a military drone.
The event took place in the Church Rooms, at the Parish Church of St Mary, the Virgin, and included an exhibition and a talk on the use of drones in the Yemen, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
“The amazing quilt gave food for thought to the many visitors throughout the day, some stopping to create a new square, choosing a name from the list of many still to be added,” said Christine Green.
“Each square has the name of the person killed, their age ( if known) and the name of the person who made it.”
The afternoon talk entitled ‘drones and civilian deaths was given by Penny Walker of the Drones Campaign Network and was followed by a lively discussion.
The quilt has travelled the country and is a project set up by the Fellowship of Reconciliation. The event in St Neots was hosted by the St Neots Quakers.
