Ruth Butler welcomed 39 members and 10 visitors to the September meeting. The mystery tour took us on a scenic route to the Racehorse at Catworth where we enjoyed a supper before returning home. We are now looking forward to our trip to Norwich later this month.
Pat Berrington received her bursary towards a weekend at Denman College. Kath Carr and Betty Trevett had sunset photos included in the 2007 Federation calendar.
The speaker, Dorothy Halphide - Dot of the Dairy, arrived in full Tudor dress of a dairymaid which she had made using materials of the period.
She had answered an advert by Kentwell Manor in Suffolk and spent her holidays as a dairymaid making butter and cheese. She showed slides of the re-enactment at Kentwell. Joan Alexander gave a vote of thanks.
The next meeting will be at 7.30pm on Tuesday, October 3 when the speaker will be Miss D Hersey on the Azores and Madeira. New members and visitors are always welcome.
